This is my first attempt at a photoblog. I have been doing self-taught photography for most of my life. I hope you like this effort. Please click on the photos for enlargements.

Row, Row, Row your boat - Part deux (the sequel)

Never let it be said that I don't listen. Especially when I mis-interpret what you suggested.

If you were to crop out the background (the color part), leaving just the various tones of grey lines criss-crossing, it would make a very interesting post-modern composition because it might appear highly-industrial when in fact it is a simple row boat. I like this photo.

Nope. I took this when your mother and I went to Halifax for the week last September. Maybe you just recognize good work when you see it?

F-Stop! I didn't say you were wrong! I said "what if" - I love the photo's both ways, each version says something different. There is no right or wrong in art. Please don't take it personally. The artist in me doesn't have an off switch!

AM- I certainly didn't take it personally. I love getting suggestions and recommendations from friends about my photos. I simply didn't look at the background in the first photograph as closely as I should have and I think the second (or Part deux) is a better representaion of what I wanted in the first place. It was your proper interpretation of the photograph that I was looking for but didn't see. See?
